XLCC attended a fantastic recruitment fair hosted by Patricia Gibson MP (pictured with Alan Mathers – XLCC Project Director) in Saltcoats on 13th October. The event was a huge success with a significant representation from local employers aligning with prospective employees from the community. 

The team spent much of the event discussing the Hunterston development with teachers and lecturers including the recruitment and training opportunities available. 

This event is part of the programme of activity to raise awareness of the employment opportunities created by XLCC and further activities include a series of STEM presentations to local schools and colleges. 

Interconnectors, export cables and grid reinforcement projects will all be required to ensure the opportunities from renewable power is harnessed and XLCC will make a significant contribution in delivering on the net zero agenda.
