UK subsea cable manufacturer XLCC today announces the appointment of Paul Dickson as its Development Director following the planning approval of its Hunterston facility earlier this year. The site is set to play a pivotal role in the UK’s green energy transition.
Paul brings over 34 years of experience in complex design, engineering and construction projects. He saw a unique opportunity at XLCC to focus on efficient manufacturing delivery linked to a digital strategy, combining construction and OEM equipment integration in a way he had not seen before in the manufacturing industry.
Paul joins XLCC from ISG where he spent over 12 years as a senior leader overseeing the delivery of multiple large-scale projects across data centres, life sciences and manufacturing sectors. Prior to this Paul directed mechanical, electrical and public health projects at Mace Major Projects Group.
Paul Dickson, Development Director at XLCC, commented:
“I am excited to join one of the UK’s most ambitious green energy projects that will revolutionise how the country accesses new renewable sources. I genuinely believe the work we are doing to align to a digital, data-driven efficient model is game-changing and light years ahead of the rest of the industry. At XLCC, we are aligning integrated engineering and construction together with programme and cost management that’s data-driven, enabling efficient project delivery in a truly collaborative environment”
Alan Mathers, Project Director at XLCC, said:
“We welcome Paul’s appointment to XLCC and look forward to working closely with him to ensure we are innovating and pushing the boundaries to meet our development milestones at this crucial moment in XLCC’s journey. What we are aiming to achieve is incredibly ambitious, and we need the best in the business who are up for the challenge. We look forward to growing XLCC with Paul to facilitate the green energy transition on the road to Net Zero.”
